Index to the "Satellite Map Sheet Series" of Sudan (7/4/1)
The "Satellite Map Sheet Series" covering Sudan in the scale of 1:250.000 has been carried out on behalf of the "Geological Research Authority of the Sudan" (GRAS) in the year 2004.
All map sheets have been produced in scientific cooperation between David Haberlah from the "Freie Universitaet Berlin" (FU Berlin) and Dr. Ibrahim A. A. Babikir from the "School of Applied Earth Sciences" "Faculty of Science and Technology" of "El-Neelain University Khartoum" (El-Neelain).
The "Landsat Thematic Mapper 5" satellite data has been obtained from the "Global Land Cover Facility" (GLCF).
The processes of spatial subsetting and mosaicking have been jointly supervised by David Haberlah and Dr. Ibrahim A. A. Babikir and were partly conducted by Esam Aldeen Ali Mohammed (teaching assistant at El-Neelain University Khartoum) and Mohammad Elmahdi (employee at GRAS). The final cartography was carried out by David Haberlah and plotted in cooperation with "GEO3" at the "University of Applied Sciences Berlin" (TFH Berlin).
The project has been financed by the "Geological Research Authority of the Sudan" (GRAS) and supported by the "Collaborative Research Centre - SFB 389" (ACACIA) in Cologne, Prof. B. Meissner from the "University of Applied Sciences Berlin" (TFH Berlin) and Prof. H.-J. Pachur from the "Freie Universitaet Berlin" (FU Berlin).
All map sheets are available in the band combinations (7/4/1 - Standard Combination), (4/3/2 - False Color Composite) and (3/2/1 - Visual Spectrum).
